Wii Skins: How to “dress up” your Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is very popular and well loved around the world. People across our planet and of all walks of life love to play and entertain themselves by playing with this interactive gaming console. Every player can “recreate” him or herself as character on the console, which makes the gaming experience even more personal.

The gaming scene can be changed to pretty much anything the gamer can think of. Now as with everything these days, from mobile phone cases to mp3 player sleeves, can be matched to the taste of the owner of the device. It is obvious that it should also be possible to do the same for your favorite gaming console. The Wii skins, as they’ve been named by Nintendo. These skins are very well known for their uniqueness.

So lets explore what has been introduced to the market place.

What sort of Wii Skins are available

I’m just starting to realize how vast the for Wii skins is. I must admit I had no idea. But hey, there’s always something one can learn.

Here is what I’ve discovered.

So first of all there are wii skins for the console itself and they do come in all sorts of names and colors

The simplest ones come in one single color such as black or white. But even those have been given names such as solid black and retro revolution. Then there are the multi colored ones,  chunky is green and to me looks like a shark, then there are skins called  blue giant, dragon’s breath, zen, crime scene, war, radioactive, benjamins, abduction, absolute power, accident, areal, amoebic, analysis, anarchist, apocalypse blue, apocalypse green, apocalypse orange, apocalypse pink, apocalypse red, apocalypse violet, atomic, autumn dots, azure, b&w fleur, balance, baseball, basketball, bass is good, bbq, beginning, and so many more that I feel I need to stop here. All these skins do on top of decoration also protect the gaming console from getting scratched.

Any number of companies have gotten onto the bandwagon of creating and designing these wii skins, and the choice is ever growing.

The skins are made of vinyl. The Wii skin can be taken off easily and exchanged with another skin in only minutes because of its self adhesive back.

The Wii skins can be purchased offline as well as online, I think it probably is easier to get a sense of what is available online. You can then always walk into a store and have a look at the skin to see what it looks like in “real life”.

Now if in case your not satisfied with the choice, even though  it is huge, there are companies who even offer customized wii skins. You can for instance use a picture you really like, or maybe even one of your paintings. It seems to me that the world is your oyster when it comes to wii skins.

Obviously there are different varieties of skins available for the controllers and the nunchuk.

You can create a very personal look for your most loved gaming console.
